Everything FundFlow does

Six areas, one product. This page is the honest inventory: what each part is for, and what it actually does when you use it.

No credit card. Nothing is charged until your first 30 days are over.

The monthly close

The flow the whole product is built around. Five steps, resumable, mobile-first.

  • Month-end balances per account

A card for every bank and brokerage account, with last month’s figure shown behind the field you are filling and a running total as you go.

  • Deposits and withdrawals to confirm

Every pending flow for the month, confirmed or excluded one at a time, each with an undo. The step will not let you continue while something is undecided.

  • Costs, dividends and fee payments

Add an expense, book a dividend with its country’s withholding rate, or record a payment against an outstanding management or performance fee.

  • Compute, then four checks

The engine calculates the month and reports bank versus NAV, participants versus assets, fees calculated versus paid, and units versus assets: each with its difference and threshold.

  • Confirm and lock

Lock it yourself, or require a second person to confirm first. Once locked the month is immutable.

  • Reopen, if you truly must

An administrator can reopen a locked month with a written reason. It is recorded, and it is deliberately not a one-tap action.

NAV, koers and fees

The calculation engine. Exact decimal arithmetic, in the database, reproducible from its inputs.

  • Gross return and NAV per month

Derived from your opening assets, the confirmed flows, the profit and loss, and the costs, never typed.

  • Koers per series

Each fee series gets its own unit price each month, from the sum of participant values over the units outstanding.

  • Management fees

Charged per series at the rate you set, monthly, on the value at the start of the month.

  • Performance fees with high-water marks

Charged only on the value above the participant’s high-water mark, after the management fee. The mark is stored per unit and carried forward.

  • Every figure explains itself

Tap a number to see the plain-language explanation, the formula, the exact inputs and the month. This is the replacement for reading a formula bar.

  • No floating-point drift

All money maths runs in Postgres in exact decimal arithmetic. The engine is covered by a database test suite that includes golden-master comparisons.

Participants and series

Who holds what, in which series, at what price, since when.

  • Add a participant in one guided flow

Identity, contact and bank details with an IBAN checked as you type, then the series and the first deposit, then a review before anything is written.

  • Deposits at the right koers

A deposit issues units at the entry price for the month, and the review screen tells you which month’s koers that is before you commit.

  • Withdrawals, including full redemptions

Partial or full. A full redemption redeems every unit at the close rather than trusting a typed amount, so nothing is left stranded by rounding.

  • Multiple series per participant

A participant can hold units in more than one fee series, each with its own price history and high-water mark.

  • Bank accounts and personal details

Several bank accounts per participant with one marked primary, plus contact details, tax identifier and address.

  • A searchable history per participant

Every change to a participant is written to a history you can search and filter, page by page.

Dividends and withholding tax

Booked per security, allocated per participant, summarised per year.

  • Book a dividend per security

Security, ticker, position, ex-date and pay date, gross amount, currency and conversion rate.

  • Withholding rate by country

Choose the country and the withholding rate is prefilled, with a live preview of gross, withheld and net before you save.

  • Allocated by ownership

On save the dividend is split across participants according to their share, so no one has to work out who is owed what.

  • Year-end tax summaries

Per participant, per year, per country: gross, withheld and net: ready to be included in an annual statement.

Reporting and communication

Statements built once, personalised per recipient, sent with a PDF.

  • A report built from blocks

Seven block types: fund summary, series table, fee summary, personalised participant metrics, free text, disclaimer and dividend tax summary, added, reordered and edited.

  • Personalised per participant

Blocks that carry a participant’s own figures fill themselves in per recipient, and free text can address them by name.

  • Frozen at save

Computed blocks store a snapshot when you save, so recalculating a month later can never silently change a statement you already sent.

  • PDF statements in Dutch or English

Each participant gets their own PDF, in the language set for the fund, attached to the email.

  • Delivery tracked per recipient

Every send writes a delivery row with its status, and a failed one can be retried individually.

  • Year-end statements

Pick a year with locked months and FundFlow drafts the annual report, dividend withholding summary included.

Setup, settings and control

The configuration that makes the engine behave like your fund.

  • Multiple funds and organisations

Run several funds from one login, each with its own configuration and subscription, with an overview that puts the funds needing attention first.

  • Accounts to reconcile against

Register the bank and brokerage accounts the fund uses. These are exactly what the close asks you for each month.

  • Fee and high-water-mark settings

Fee definitions per fund, and high-water-mark behaviour including whether a withdrawal resets it.

  • Benchmarks

A weighted benchmark mix with monthly index values, blended onto the NAV chart with an outperformance figure.

  • Roles enforced by the database

Administrator, editor, viewer and reviewer. Who can write bookkeeping, who can change configuration and who can only read is enforced in the database, not in the interface.

  • Opening position for an existing fund

Anchor a fund that pre-dates FundFlow with one opening month, then close forward normally.
